... and i had a couple problems fixed which turned out to be something different than the advice i received here (not knocking the help on this site, i'm just posting it in case other people have these problems).
i had a static sound over my samples whenever i tried to load them up and push the pads. i was told it might be bad memory chips but in my case, in turned out i had damaged audio connections in the back.
i also had problems saving and loading up from my zip drive (those "scsi read/save errors")... i've read a lot of different opinions on this subject here. i've heard some say it's because iomega drives were not made specifically for mpc's. but in my case, my scsi connection was damaged and now that's it's been fixed, i've had no problems loading or saving at all.
anyways, like i said, i'm posting this in case anyone else runs into these problems. it's been a long ass time since i've had my MPC back (because i couldn't afford the insane fees they charge me at the repair shop)... but now i'm just glad to have to back.
