The blue xl's the plastic buttons seem different from the older versions and more fragile.
No i bet the molds are identical, molds are so expensive they probably bought the exact molds from the original manufacturer along with their copyright. I bet if there is a difference in that sector it has to do with the temperature that they were cooled. It is possible that they used colder water to punp through the molds to increase production time which can cause brittleness. ( I used to work for a plastic mold injection company )
