For the record, NONE of my cards are formatted on my mpc.

I wanted maximum transfer compatibility between mpc, pc, triton extreme so I formatted on pc fat/fat16. My cf card can go into all of them at any time with no problems.

Okay so let me see if I can get this process correctly...here goes:

1. I buy ANOTHER 1GB compact flash card.
2. I insert it into my computer.
3. I format it in FAT format.
4. I add 1.2 onto the disk.
5. I insert the flash card into the MPC.
TADA!!!

It works! Am I going in the right direction here??

Dude, stop being difficult and listen to Lamp. For less headaches stick with 1 gig cards. Its only when people try to jump to the 2 gigs that they start to have problems. Trust us.
STICK WITH THE 1 GIG CARD AND USE 1.20 and you'll be fine.

guy, did you read anything that I posted?? I have already tried a <1GB card and I was still not successful...I'm just not trying to waste anymore flash cards...I think 3 is enough...nobody is trying to be difficult

When I had trouble getting both my PC and MPC to read my cards..

I got the free trial of MPC Editor and formatted all my cards using the XP - MPC option and I haven't had any problems since.

download mpceditor demo from midicase and use it to format your card. you will then have one 29 mb partition on it. copy the 1.20 os on it, insert the card into your mpc and install the os. after that format your card on pc back to 1 gig fat.

thx for this...i spent all day trying to figure this shit out...
