Well there is another way. Ok I didnt test this but I dont know why it should not work.
Instead of solder the cable to the board of the MPC (board could get demaged and doesnt look very nice) you could solder a D-Sub25 Plug (just like the SCSI Port on the MPC) to the ribboncable.

I guess its necessery to make some modifications to the SMPT hole but I would rather do this than deal with a solderiron on the SCSI pins of the PCB.
