how often does your xl freeze up?

just wondering. i've had my xl for over four years. in all that time it only froze up on me 2 times that i can recall.

yesterday it did some odd error thing and the sounds were playing all wierd. it was somewhat amusing cuz it was playing the sounds all random and it actually sounded pretty dope hahaha.

and today it froze after i only had it on for a couple of hours...if that.

guess i should start saving more often.

when I first got it (floppy drive, old os) it froze on a regular basis (like once every couple of days). Since I put in a card reader and updated the os it hardly ever freezes on me...Last week it happened once in like 4 years or so.

it seems like it often has a mini-freeze where it will pause up then remember what it was doing a few seconds later, like going to the sample screen from the main screen.
Its only totally frozen a couple of times in the last year - not ideal but no major troubles

Ha mine does the same thing!! I find it espeacely if you are already working on a pattern with samples, midi etc then if you hit the sample button it dont like it some times and will cause what you have said.
Also some times the 16 Levels dont want to turn on! I have to re-boot or other strange things.
I dont think it's frozen 100% yet that I remember but it has done some strange things for sure. Last week the metronome sound when recording a track was corupt! yes the sound was propper messed lol

mine froze up once, but also does other crazy things every now and then. for example when i start my pc up, when my mpc is already up and running (and pc's midi out is going to the mpc) the mpc gets all fukked and starts playing stuff randomly.

that brings me down to the question: where's the midi panic button on your mpc (i need some gold letters...)

*Knock on wood* Once the very day i got it new out the box. Since then nothing and i thrash mine like a $15 hooker.

happened to me a couple of times, the whole screen gets filled with numbers. Also,the "a few seconds" happens, usually after I have sliced samples, mapped them, and maybe want to do another one. But haven`t had problems in a long time. Except the other day when my cf reader was "away"

man i left my mpc on for the whole nite cuz i had a huge ass sample and this was back before i got my Zipdrive so i couldnt save the song..i got up the next morning to play the beat and it freezes and stutters up!

mine never froze, but sometimes, it doesn't let me change any settings in the 16 levels function. It lets me turn it on, but it dont let me change settings.
