look, i'm not too hip to the electronics part of this....anyhow i have a 2000xl with a 9 gb scsi drive on it. what is the easiest way to record my songs to get back on my computer?

my understanding is i need an inbox to put on the laptop otherwise its blowing it up?

what i do now is connect the 2000xl to my friends 1000 and just record as that and he transfers to the computer through his memory card.

i need this asap so i can get my music out there better!!!!

thank you very much for all the help of this forum its great

PLEASE USE THE SEARCH FORUM FUNCTION, GOOGLE, AND YOUR BRAIN! You should get the answer that way.

You only need a good/decent sound card, and you can do the recording with a program you get free or cheap like Reaper, Audacity, garageband if you got it with you Mac.

I really don't understand what you meant with the computer blowing up??? Edit: Is it a microphone input instead of a line input? Maybe you can switch it to line level inside your computer.

Use a cable from the MPC's stereo out, hook it into a decent, good or pro sound card, adjust the MPC's level so that you get a good non clipping recording level in your computer, record, done. You can also set the MPC's internal master level to be louder if you don't get a hot enough signal (which really should not be a problem)
