I checked with VST and MPC STUFF and they are out..the screen has been discontinued. It's sorta absurd that you can still get MPC 60/3000/1000/4000 and higher up screens but nobody has 2000xl screen's available. When i sent a email to VST, they told me to look into buying a new MPC..lol..sorry i love my 2KXL too much to buy something new (plus the new mpc's dont do much for me) Why try to fix something thats not broke?!?!

Does anybody know a alternative supplier/retailer? Thanks

Damn Man, you and I are in the same boat. I emailed/called/begged and pleaded with all those vendors, and nothing.

I'll make you a deal, if I find anything I'll post it up. You should do the same. SUCKS that I can't dig into my vintage 2000 until I get this screen problem figured out...

they are out of your screen because they are notorious for going out. your best bet would be to find the exact specs of your screen. akai might actually supply you with this. then cross reference those specs to an aftermaket screen manufacturer. and dont be afraid to call suppliers and talk to them about what you need. just make sure to go into detail with them about the specs.
this is how people came up with the blue lcd fix for the 1000. and there are also white, and red ones too.
point is its all about the specs of the screen. and if you want your baby back youll dig just like you were looking for that gem of a record.
