Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Basically I have all these drums sounds on my PC, but when I sample them on the MPC2k they loose there THUMP and power. I'm currently going out my m-audio sound card which has RCA out & ins into the mpc 1/4 inch. I'm thinking this is the problem while I'm loosing quality, but I also have the SPDIF on my soundcard and on the mpc. Should I be sending sounds through this? here's the card I have...

8 x 8 analog I/O

2 mic preamps or line inputs

S/PDIF digital I/O (coaxial) with 2-channel PCM

SCMS copy protection control

digital I/O supports surround-encoded AC-3 and DTS pass-through

1 x 1 MIDI I/O

directly drive up to 7.1 surround (bass management software included)

software controlled 36-bit internal DSP digital mixing/routing

+4dbu/-10dBV operation individually switched in software

word clock I/O for sample accurate device synchronization

Good lOokin.

Man I don't know alot about your card but use them mic preamps! that'll boost the amplitude of whatever you send out the PC to the MPC. I'd push them puppies to boost the signal or use some plugin like T-Racks to add warmth and punch out the soundcard then sample into the MP...there you go.
