Why when I try to format my external SCSI drive the Mpc2000

Why when I try to format my external SCSI drive the Mpc2000 respond says SCSI NOT READY! What does this mean and how can I fix this problem so that I can format my SCSI drive?

try putting a different SCSI ID on the drive and put the termination ON on the drive. that should help
SCSI ID different than 5 i believe
set it o 1 or 2 to be sure it works.
then startup your drive first, boout up the mpc
ad try to format
i reccomend you to format to more than 2 partitions because its gonna help you a lot, FAT filesystem is only capable of handling 512files (not beats) on one partition
