WHY THE MPC 2000? WHY THE MPC2000XL?

Hi. I was just wondering what you guys prefer and why?
why is one better than the other?

Me, personally, it's smaller and has more options. I remember specifically one selling point to me what the internal connection for IDE (my internal 250mb ZIP). I don't like to have stuff hanging off the side.

The xl is the newer and more evolved MPC 2000. It just has been better designed and upgraded. It has all of the 2000 and then mad more options. Nuthin against the 2000 its just an older model of the same thing. Who would want to downgrade?

Both are good. The upgrades on the xl are nice, but either one works fine. I wouldnt trade my 2000 for a 2000xl, but if i didnt have either id choose the xl over the 2000.

As for the deferences, well: timestretch is better done in a computer as is normalize and automated cutting. The filters on the mpc are, in my opinion, not the best, and thats why I use a mf-101. Both can hold zip disks, but on the 2000 its an expensive mod.

The features I miss on the MPC2000 vs. xl are: the xl can play two sequences at one, and the xl can play four programs at once.

In terms of raw power, however, save up for the 4000, which spec wise blows them both away...

has 2nd sequence feature which allows this. It's useless to me, I only used it when I was READING thru the manual and learning each function.

That's the thing: what's useful to one person is useless to another... thats why the 2000 and 2000xl are more or less on par in many respects...
as i said before, if I didnt have a 2000 I would buy the xl, but it the differences are not so great that the 2000 is useless in comparison with the xl or I have any desire to trade up. So all you non-xl users out there: dont get too jealous...

I've got the Non-XL and I'm content with it. All those additional features like filters and effects I just use on the comp. Timestretching on the comp takes less than 2 seconds where as I hear on the XL can take a while to the point where it seems as though it's freezing up. Although I wish I had my Waves and other software programs in my MPC I'm still content

I started on a 2000 it was a freinds and always wanted one. Got a 2000XL a little over a year ago. Mastered it in a few weeks. The original owner has a 4000 and was buggen over the stuff I got the XL do'en. To me this is what i always wanted. I am happy and don't need nothing else.
