how to chop on the mpc2000???

how do you chop once you get your loop together say like in to 4

Sample single note hits and 16 levels them. Or sample kicks and snares and play your own patterns... if you want to chop a big sample, sample it and save it to disk, then load it, trim the piece you want to use, rename that piece. Load the original again, trim the next piece you want to use, rename THAT, load the original, trim the next piece, etc. etc. The old school way to chop.

TRIM mode

use the znEDIT page.
That means Zone Edit. Select your start and end points. then use the F button thats above EDIT and save the zone.

Yeah. You dont need recycle.

Heres the trick:
Open the zone edit, like it says above. Set the "Play:" box in the upper right hand corner to "play zone."
Highlight the zone start and use your jog wheel to move to the waveform you want to cut.
move past it till you get to the end of the section you want to cut, now back up till you get to the start of the sound you want to cut and hit the play zone button.
Does it sound right?
If it doesnt you can open the window and zoom in on the waveform to see whats wrong.
If it sounds good, then go to the edit page and save the zone as a new sample (like "kick 5" or whatever).
You get the hang of it, you'll be cutting at least as fast as you couuld on a PC.

I used recycle for a while, but came back to this method as for me its quicker and you dont have to move from computer to mpc and back again.
Just find the sound you want, cut it, assign it to a program and play it 1-2-3.

Doesn't the MPC2000 have a 'section new sound' feature? If it does, why not use that to create your chops
