What do i need

ive been wanting to make beats since a couple of years ago and it kinda faded away. but about 4 months ago i discovered a producer named madlib and he completely blew my mind and inspired me. so now i have an mpc 2000 just got it a week ago. i have been spending time reading the manual and messing around on it. i have some .snd files on my mpc but no sound plays because i have no speakers hooked up to it. so i am wondering wat type of speakers do i need to hook up to this mpc. and is there anything else i need to get my dream going. also i would like a decent record player to go along with it in the future. but again i have no idea any good models to buy.

no need for speakers, just plug the mpc straight into your ears (both for stereo, or just one for mono).

The Cheap Route: Consumer headphones of your choice, RCA cables and RCA to 1/4" adaptors (to plug into the Aux input of any typical home stereo), Belt drive Turntable and a Dj mixer/pre-amp.

Headphones/monitors are subject to personal preference... I use Sony MDR-7506 and a pair of KRK Rokit 8's.

The DJ mixer is used for the preamp.

The preamp is used to boost + eq the very low signal of the turntable to something compatible with the mpc.

you need only one
obviously the quality of the sample obtained from the original source (vinyl or whatever)
depends also on the quality of the device you use to amplify the signal

alright so i got an mpc 2000 and a Numark TTUSB Turntable with USB. any one know if i need any cords or adapters for that.

Hey bud, thats a pretty decent tt, better than my gemini belt drives from years ago. Youre gonna have to figure this simple sheit out for yourself though. I strongly recommend the mpc tutorials on this site, they are worth the money.
