I got my screen, I installed it and it works!
I've had my 2000xl since 2003 and it was only about a year and a half ago that the screen started going out. I didn't get the lines that most people seem to experience; my screen was just burning out. There was a big, out of contrast blob in the middle of it that made reading the information on the screen nearly impossible.
I finally gave in and bought an MPC Studio, and I like some of the features, but it's just not the same. I don't like being tethered to a computer. The 2000xl is like an actual musical instrument. The Studio is just a software controller.
Anyway, the point is, my 2000xl is up and running again. I haven't noticed any performance issues with it. There's no lag or anything. It runs just like the old screen.
And I just want to throw this in too, I really like the new blue background/white text color scheme. I don't know if that was done out of necessity but I like it and it adds an amount of freshness to the whole thing.
I just want to say a big, big thank you to everyone who was involved in getting these designed and produced. You really do deserve a standing ovation, maybe even a mention on the MPC Wikipedia page
This is that monumental in my opinion.
