Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By NeoAtomic Thu Jan 27, 2005 6:18 am
When I hit a pad for some reason it hits 2 times really fast. I looked through the hole manuel and couldnt find anything to help me. I tried changing the sample from poly to mono and it did nothing.

If you know how to fix this problem please help

Thanks!!

it happens to many when we first start out on the mpc...get a feel for hittin the pads.....

note: don't just use one finger and tap lightly.....get comfortable enough to hit with 2 fingers(1 can work if you bang hard).....try to hit the center of the pad moreso than the edges.....hope this helps

It doesnt matter how hard or soft or where I hit for some reason it keeps doing it.

u just gotta keep practicing. u have to strike the pad quick and pull back up with the tip of ur finger. it takes a while to get used to it.

Trust what all these guys are telling you, seems as if you've run into a common user error that can be fixed with patience, time and some pad practice.. Did I mention patience..

Yeah, don't send it back. You'll only have the same problem with any one u use until you practice hitting those pads

Nuthin' Wrong with the pads... It's you who is pressin' un-experienced

First Lay you finger on the pad you want to push, not just hit it when needed. Just my advice..

The guy called me and he told me differant ways to hit it and he said it shouldnt do that no matter what way you hit it. I told him what everyone on here said and he said he never ran in to that problem no matter how he hit it. The problem only happens when I hit the pads hard and in the center, if I hit soft and in the center it works good or if I hit hard/Soft on the corners it works good. I know it might be me but I would rather find out rather than be out $1000.

nah yo. the cats here on this forum are pretty well skilled in the mpc. As u can see, ur friend had no problem casue he knows how to hit the pads. it really is a common problem and i would hate to see u lose ur money on some tech support that u dont need. . keep it for a month and see how it goes beofre u send it back. it used to annoy me when i started also, but it really is just a user problem. it took bout a month of soild practice and i have not had the prob since. The cats on this forum though are very informed bout the mpc so i would value there opinions then to some dude that sold u it. but if he has not had the prob its most def u. try a quuick strike with the tip of ur finger. and make sure u pull up fast.

So if you take your MPC right now and hit it one time and leave your finger there it will hit 2 times?
