ok i heard that you can only have 3 pads cut each other off with the xl. but i was just watching the pete rock video and he was hitting all 16 pads and the sample played until he hit anonther. so is it possible to have all the pads cut each other off like the rest of the mpc's

you can assign 2 sounds to be cut off by one pad, and you can set it up so that the 1st pad will be cut by the 2nd and the 2nd to be cut by the 3rd etc. et.

umm, i'm definantly not one of those cats, i've been making beat on reason for a minute now, and after using the mpc and seeing how it compliments my work flow, thats why i'm getting one. i could care less if somebody in a movie used it. i know alot about the xl, but some little thing s are still unclear, cause i dont own the damn machine. i know what midi is i know how to midi sync into software, i definantly know about 16 levels and that it's not the answer to my question.

man the 2kxl manual is just like the 2k manual. only a few small differences (the extra features on the xl). other then that, you can use it.
