only you can answer that question for yourself.

I have a classic, and if I was gonna switch up, it'd be for a 60 or a 3k, not an xl. But thats me.

i'd say it was it waste of money. like dude said, you should've gone for the 60 or 3000 because they are vintage machines. kinda like buying an classic car.

Real advice?
Give yourself 30-45 days of using the XL and learning what it does and report back.
The classic is ok, but if you like the classic then the xl is a big boost while standing on the same ground.
The problem comes from just doing a glance not from actually using it.
Unlike the other transitions the xl is simply an improved classic so it will still feel similar in many ways but you will understand the purpose of the changes in time.
It should add without disrupting your workflow.

It's a lot more going on there then just a flip screen.

Just certain MPC transitions that will always seem broken;
-a person adding V3 to a 60 and then going back to V2
-person going from the XL to the classic and saying it's better
-person buying a 4k and saying it's complicated or works different from other MPC's
-person going from a 2500 to a 1k and saying it's just a small 2500

You will never know the real answer to your question if you don't take the time to tryout the xl and really evaluate it.

I owned a classic, I upgraded to a an XL. IMO, the XL is where it is at. There is no reason that I can see to use a classic unless you have to.

I will never understand why classic 2k users feel they loose something with the 2k :?
Smoove, what do you feel you would loose by giving up the 2k?
You would be surprised at how the xl improves the workflow of the 2k while keeping it in the familiar pocket of the 2k.

I think it's not a bad idea, if you want to have the same functions as the 2k and a better save support with the mcd kit.
With the 2kxl, you've got the timestretch function too, but you can have it with any software.
If you can sale your 2k for the same price of a 2kxl, it's a good choice!!

not that I feel im loosing anything. Im sure the xl could improve a lot of things. There's some features on the xl i wish i had now. just the fact that im down with the 2k. i really love this thing and its done everything i need it to do. as far as time stretch, i dont need that. i have a s5k and audition that can time stretch. i would love to try that auto zone feature that the xl has. i tilted my own screen on the 2k. i dont really see a need right now to switch. and if i did decide to switch, i would probably hold onto my 2k and get a whole new mpc. i wouldnt trade or sell my 2k. its mine lol. i even modified it, so its definately not goin anywhere
