Once again i have to start off by saying Ive read and searched the forum so I have a little bit of info to start with. So heres the question when loopin Im using Recycle 2.1 How do you loop in 2,4 or 8 Bars i mean looping isnt an exact science sometime you loop it and its longer or shorter than the length you want. Is this Where I need to learn more about TimeStretching and chopping. What Im trying to do in essence is say heres my loop fit it into the correct number of bars either longer or shorter whats the best method and a little instruction would help. Thank in advance!

Best method would be to experiment on your own, practice on your own with whatever samples you choose.

Different samples require different you to do different things when looping.

To me, looping is not a scripted event/process.

Ok I guess the knowledge of tial and error is the best knowledge of all!!!

That too but I'm saying, different samples need different loops points. There's no one perfect method to that one imo homie.

May be you could try counting the beats in the loop. If it's 4 or 8, it's pretty straight forward: 4 beats=bar ... 8 = 2. If it's like 5, 6, 10, or some weird number, then you need to get creative. Start chopping your loop up ... re-configure it. It's like a jig saw puzzle, ya know? Try to figure out on your own how to make it work.

Some peeps on this site swear by chopping your samples down to the note ... ie 1 sample = 1 note.

Chopping to one note is just so you can make your own melody and/or tiemstretch further than the normal 10%-15% to make some loops fit/work. I think live2ride wants a loop. It IS like a puzzle though. Prepare to spend some time perfecting your own methods for you own choice(s) of samples.

Alos be creative and different. Instead of fixing the 3 bar loop........make ya beat around it...........make ya MC switch up his flow. It doesn't always have to be 2, 4, 8, etc. bar loops. Nor does it always have to be 4/4 time signature. Anyway just my thoughts, have fun homie.

I'm old school, I go by ear, my chop, I don't even remember looking up any bmp's to follow in any loops I had going.

haha why would you look it up???... maybe tap it out for an idea..

not sure if that has anything to do with being old school or not.. might be more about being on beat ...

if im looping a 1 bar wav, ill always leave a lil over hang (1 seconds silence) cause the mpc clicks i tend not to get into the habit of looping bars , as your restricted to the one tempo and as soon as you change it everything is fuked.
