are floppys that bad??

yeah im just gonna go get the 1k after reading all this 6x over. looking on vst ive seen that they have a decked out 1k for 1100. i think thats worth saving up for (except for the akai ram). otherwise i think thats the move to make.

I think it all depends on how you like to work. I switched to my mpc2k classic after working on computers for years. Computers (and some of the newer mpc's) have a TON of options. For example, with Reason on the computer, I could just go through presets all day long and never write a thing. The limitations of the system make you commit. I have zip drives with my mpc2k, but I mostly just use the floppies. I have had the zip drive do weird stuff, but so far no problems with the floppies.
