elmacaco, you hit the nail on the head. there is a lot involved with making beats. when getting a new piece for my setup i always download the manual first. just because you have mpc, triton, mofit, fanton etc does not make you a producer. you need to understand/master midi, audio, sequences, elements of beats, sounds/patches and the list goes on. what elmacoco is saying, if you do not want to learn on your own you are fooling yourself about being a producer. as a beginner your goal is to be the teacher and not the student.

BB Sound thanks for your reply, yeah what I want to do is not in the manual. I am using that 2496 soundcard. I have heard of a program called V-stack that may help. But will give your example a try. I really appreciate your help on this, thanks.

first of all SinisterWRX what software are you useing, what sound card do you have. If you have software like nuendo, click on the link above. What you want to do is not in any manual or tutorial that I know of.
elmacaco sometimes it would help to give something more than just hints yaknow.. Im not trying to be a smart **** or anything but just saying "MIDICABLES" dont really help any.
I have my MPC sync with nuendo 2 and I use all my software samplers with my MPC2Kxk with out a problem.
Sinister, in the mpc manual it explains to you how to sync up your mpc as a master or slave. in chapter 12 page 178. I use my MPC as a slave and nuendo as the master and I have them synced up with midi clock .
If you dont have the manual you can download it.
SOrry if I offended anyone but it just burns me up when all I see are hints givin to others. I know what it like to feel lost, I try to be as helpfull as I can... aslo sin, you can do a search on this topic and find more stuff related to this.

skalawa, alittle history about me, well i have been coming to this site for more than 6 years and my screen name was neverenoughfunk. so, when you throw stones know your sh*t first. ok cuz? if i had only 1/2 of a post i have owned a mpc to close to 8 years. i think i do have a little experence with the mpc. when i look at my library of books and manuals about midi and recording i own, i have more than a few. i have read each one a few time and always go back for references. basically, i do my homework and i know what i am talking about. ok, cuz? so, instead of counting my post you should spend some of your time reading up on midi, recording and producing. skalawa, how long have you been in the game? what was your first piece of midi equiment? mine was a roland r5, that i brought in 1986. so, i am approaching 20 years in the electric music cirlce. how long for you? so, dont throw stones if your own sh*t stinks. ok cuz.

no problem sin,, Everyone is right with the manual thing and the tutorial
but I have never read one that pertians to this subject especially with different types of tracking software like nuendo, cubase, sonar, ETC.
no one really answered sin question at allcome to think of it. How many of you guys have your MPC synced up correctly with your software. and can you use each sound modual like halion, kontakt,fm7,reaktor seperatly on each midichannel? while useing your mpc as a slave or master? I have and I can realte to sins question because I went thru the same crap. and let me tell its frustrating even if you know a thing or two about midi. This is just one of thoes subjects that are not covered by any manual or tutorial that I know of. I learned because some one was nice enuff to give me an example and from there I worked it out. Its like any quiz if you will, with out an example how can you solve the problem? that is what this forum is for no , to help out if YOU KNOW HOW. if you dont have any knowledge of the subject just lean back and learn, some one will chime in with the answer and if they dont oh well the hunt for power and knowledge will move on. SIN, I have heard of v-stack and that will do the job but now how will track your sequences? I never used or needed to use v stack so I cant tell you to much about it
look guys, I just like to help out when I know I can and I know sometimes you just dont want to sit there and waste your energy with details, thats all good but if you really cant answer the question whats the point .
Im sorry if Im getting on anyones bad side

ok sin here is some help ok. well, i like the drum editor in cubase to fine tune my drum beats. so, i use cubase as the master and vsti and mpc as a slave(any midi book talks about master and slave). in this example the mpc is a tone module. now do you have a midi interface connected to your computer (again any midi book talks about midi interfaces). i would get a 4 in/4 out midi interface (just in case you buy more hardware). do you have a midi controller (again any midi book talks about midi controllers). connect the midi controllor to midi in1 of your 4 in/4 out midi interface. midi controller is how you input data into your sequence (again any midi book talks about midi data). your vsti/softsynths are loaded on your pc and are working properly. connect the mpc to midi out1 of your 4 in/4 out midi interface. set your mpc to recieve midi data on channel 10 or 16 (most midi books say drums are more likely programmed to recieve midi data on channel 10 or 16, but you can set it on any of the 16 channels).
general info, whatever software squencer you use there is a midi setup and audio setup dailoge area. go to the midi setup dailoge area and set your midi preferences up (ie midi in/out). go to the audio setup dailoge area and set your audio preferences up (ie audio in/out).
at this point your setup is set to sequence. now go to the track that you want to record your midi data on, point the track to vsti and channel you want to record or point it to the midi out1 and channel 10 or 16 for the mpc. you should be set.
you need to get a midi for dummies book. in the book they talk about master/slave, midi interface, and midi controller. now, read the mpc manual about midi, midi channels and using mpc as a master/slave. read the manual for your software to see how midi and audio is setup.
again, before i buy any software or hardware i download the manual first to see if and how my idea of using this equiment in my setup will work. while in school if you had a problem with doing your homework i can see why you are having problems now with your setup. if you are the type to have someone show you all the time without opening the book first, i see why you are having problems with you setup. if you keep taking the road of someone always showing you and you are not doing your homework you will always be behind the curve. grab the bull by the horns and do your homework.
THIS MIDI CONCEPT IS BASIC, THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS KNOWING AND NOT KNOWING. JUST READ.

i forgot you need a mixer to plug the audio outs of your mpc and the audio outs of you computer soundcard. then speaker or headphones to hear your beats.
get a mixing for dummies book to learn about mixing. the process of making music is always changing. if you are not willing to read you will always be behind.

one last point, i have read some where that most musician are good in math, so if you can not solve for X maybe you are in the wrong game.
2X - MPC = BANGING BEATS, where MPC = 1 & BANGING BEATS = 1
THE ANSWER IS (DRUM ROLL PLEASE)
X = 1
i had to have some fun today

Wlker, there is a problem with "someone will chime in". I have started scanning posts before reading them I visit the 60 forum and off topic, but even there I might mess a problem. We have already lost some knowledgable heads because of the flood of newbie questions, if there are problems that basic knowledge won't help, they will at least have the tools to do the ground work and won't ask about midi & audio shit. Then we will have real problems and more room for tips than we do now.
