Forgive me, Sabotage, for trying to clarify what you said, but:
Sabotage wrote:That's not entirely true, and I've stated it before on these forums. Right now I'm sitting on a XL with the 1.2 OS, looking at a 4GB CF card with 4 partitions on it to which I have access to.

Did you create those partitions in the MPC?

Just trying to clarify, cause you did state in these forums the same thing keyman is saying (from viewtopic.php?f=1&t=134352 - same link provided above):
Sabotage wrote:Not compleatly true.
The problem is that the 1.20 OS lacks the partitioning tools present in the previous one. SCSIforSamplers drive works with the previous OS so you can use larger cards and partition them on the machine (i.e. 8GB card = 8 x 1GB partitions).
...
new OS = can use most drives cannot partition.
Old OS = Limited drives to use, can partition.

I'm not trying to say you are contradicting yourself or wrong, just want the clarification...cause I think you guys are actually agreeing with each other.

Are you trying to say that, OS 1.2 CANNOT make partitions but CAN read partitions?

Just trying to keep this straight...it's easy to get conflicting information.

Thanks.

Correct nogginj,
the 1.20 OS cannot create partitions, but it surely can read and write to them. My card was partioned using third party software on a PC. I do not know if it will read and write to partitions made on a earlier version of the OS, which might be what Keyman was referring to.
