I got this far messing with the colours on a MFC-42 front panel image, to make it look similar to the orange SE2 version in the NAMM trade show photos, before I got bored, so it is not complete...

This is the blue MFC-42 version...

And this must be a pre-release trade show beige MFC-42/MPC2000XL setup, as the MFC-42 has blue and red knobs on the filter section, and the MFC42 logo on the left of the front panel, unlike the released version you can see in the YouTube video above. In the same way that the orange MFC42 in the trade show photos above has different logo positioning to the released beige and blue versions, plus the blue/red filter section knobs, and the orange MPC2000XL-SE2 in the trade show photos above has the original beige style logos, rather than the newer SE2 style logos that are on the released version...

It also seems that the released beige versions had 2 different versions of the top panel graphics, some have a large MFC logo, and some have a Akai Professional logo. The beige trade show version above shows the large MFC logo on the top panel, while the blue version above shows the Akai Professional logo.
It shows both top panel graphics in the manual, in different diagrams...
