mpc 2000 samples..........

actually my boy has an original mpc 2k and i gave him like 2 zips full of sounds and he couldnt load em.. i dont remember if they were wav or snd but i had to change em and give him another zip..

i have the classic 2000 and ive taken wavs of the net, put em on a floppy disk and loaded em up.

I have MPC editor also but when i burn a cd with a program on it and bring it up to the lab my mpc doest recognize the disk. I get the dreaded "???????????????" i hate that

i doubt the mpc will load mp3's. basicly cause it doesnt have the codecs to convert the data back to pcm audio.

Here is my Ghetto method
of getting samples downloaded onto a computer
into the MPC2000
It requires some kind of out from your computer
in my case i use the headphone out of my digi001 box
with a 1/4" guitar cable
using the best cable you have is a good idea to reduce noise
and then put the MPC on sample
and go into the left input
i like to take all my samples mono
so when i send the pads out from the 8 outs
they only take up one out
this method takes a while
but then so does reading info for a lazy person
like me

ALso look into a ZIP drive. More space.
