Jungle is actually more fun on the mpc-then a pc...IMO

recycle and an mpc are your best friends

ive used the the rm1x before and the step sequencer is cool but no you cant do that you have to go into step edit......or turn quatize on and hammer them in by hand

the x0x are the 909 (classic techno) the 808 (classic rnb) electronic kits...you hear the sounds everywhere....loads of peeps use the bass drums from these kits and turn them into bass hits...

Yes, they are hoover samples & guess what....... they were from my MKS50. My friend Rob was desperate for samples of that patch for his Reason set-up. I just did long phrase samples but he did all the looping & sent them to Hollow Sun.

We'd love to know if anyone out there is using them.

i actually wanna swap my aj1 for an mks50...purley for space!

No sound is worth downloading. Keeping your rig and the internet as far as possible is best.......and yes it will mash up your machine-it's not worth it, be more original-create or re create your samples......I will never understand downloading samples from the internet......................thats just giving in -in my opinion.

I guess you aint heard a dnb tune before. Its all about the breaks and layering some drums on top and adding some nasty baselines....

well for dnb its good to have stock stuff like the 808 kits so you can time stretch the bass drums into bass notes (alot of dnb boys do this...nasty sound) as well as stuff which is different but rather than fork out the 800 quid for an 808 just to sample its bass drum i just want some samples and rather fork out the 50 quid for the wizoo platinum electronic drums cd which is the best for samples of those old boxes i just wanna get some quick free samples and the internet can supply them.....

now i could get a copy of reactor and emulate the 808 so i can make my own 808 bass drums to stretch and be all original but im a music producer not a sound designer....

It's just downloading breaks that I really don't like.. I think it's cheating!

i dont use breaks...prefer to program my own beats......

there is no cheating in music though- it aint a race or competition and the aveage listener enjoys without worrying about all the anal shit that some producers get into...

It's just that I spend a lot of time and money digging for records. I dig through piles of records for hours just to find that one good piece of wax, And when I do find it I get ecstatic. It feels like I've deserved to have that long out of print, hard to find classic on my shelf.

Then I play the song to someone, and what do you know.. The next day they have the same song, dl'd from the net, drum break all looped up and then they act cool and try to take credit because they "found" it from soulseek or something... I believe there are some things that you have to work for to gain them.

It's like if you want to graduate from school, then you study the books and pass the tests. You don't go straight to the principal's office and ask him to write you a graduation certificate...

But that's just me... Maybe I am a vinyl purist



oh and obviously I mean downloading old songs and stuff like that... I have no problem with downloading sound module sounds or old drum machine sounds or ish like that.. I've done that myself a couple of times. I was strictly talking about records..

I dig also but Im not gonna shy away from downloading breaks(not mp3s)

I have currently about 1000-2000 records but sometimes its good to just have everything there for you...... I mean cmon yall say you make your own breaks from scratch, well I believe you but I know for a fact that you layer a break underneath it, low enough so that people dont recognize it.

i rarely use drum loops...whether underneath or as the main part....just never been into lifting loops when i can try writing my own so yes i write my own breaks but i just call em beats....
