Just saw this thread....mines busted too. With mine, no matter how you set it, it just goes to really low value and stays there. Like if I set it to control a pad's pitch and then move it, it will just go to a really low pitch and stay there, no matter where the NV is set, and no matter how many times the pad is retriggered as the slider moves. If I really pull up on the slider while moving it you can FAINTLY hear the pitch change. I emailed Forat about it and got this answer back:

mine is also broken....

I dont recommend sending it to TECHNICIANS... I sent my vestax mixer to my uncle TECHNICIAN and he **** up my shit and replaced the parts with cheap shit.... you cant even hear the after effects when you trim the los...

Mine does the same thing... when using the slider.. it will either stay at the bottom of the range... or the top of the range .. but wont "Fade" up or down..

But my query is as to the "brokeness" of the slider.. Mine still works when i use the slider to "scroll" in the trim screen from the start to the end of my sample... Now.. my point being... if it works in the trim screen .. why dont the dammned thing work when using the "after" to apply filter/decay etc ...
