But you still have to deal with the 2k file management which makes for a headache on most media.
No doubt, the ability to have folders is a plus on the xl but I don't find it too bad on the 2000. I split most of my MODisks(230MB) in partitions of 10MB (Partitions A to V) which in my case is enough to hold data of ca 3-4 tracks. Yes, it forces me to name the samples correct so I don't overwrite samples that have the same name but on the other hand this is not a bad thing (I like to know where the sample is from so I don't use names like sound001 or kick01 etc)
On MODisks with only samples I use less but bigger partitions A to I with 25MB each or A to E with 45MB each but that is only for very long uncutted samples.

That pretty much why I either use floppies or a partitioned hard drive with the 2k or the 60.
