Ableton Sync Time Delay

that makes me think we're not understanding each other. shifting the entire recording should sound exactly the same and takes maybe 30 seconds to do.

again, put like a 'click' sample at the beginning so you know exactly where the downbeat is and the rest will line up perfectly.

How does shifting take forever to do? It's instant.

There will always be some degree of jitter, more prevalent when you start going in the 120BPM area on the XL. It's just how the clock is. There have been suggestions to do a 2 bar click track to allow enough time for the XL to sync with Ableton but if that doesn't fit your mood then you can try doing a few 4 bar passes and then copy/paste on Ableton to build your track. Otherwise you can record in one pass with the 8 outs and hope that you are happy.
