Contrary to what your first post said....THE MPC DOES CRASH. After all, the MPC itself IS a computer.
Search this forum and you'll find tons of posts about the MPC crashing.

In fact, I have Ableton Live that I run on a slow computer (Mac G3, 400mhz) and it has crashed MUCH LESS than my MPC has.

Luckily, my MPC has never crashed on stage for me.

ive been touring with the mpc2000 for years, never crashed on me.. flights all over the world, bad electricity, etc... if it does crash, u load it in again & its fine.. its a masive box!
touring with live & new laptop thru the last year, lots of trouble.. computers are so un predictable.. so sensitive.. i find it hard enjoying the shows, always on the edge of a heart attack...

Maybe your answer is to buy an additional laptop as a back-up so that you can have peace-of-mind on stage.

I travelled to Europe 6 times in 2004 to play shows/tour, and I ALWAYS bring TWO MPC's on stage with me - even though I only use one.
That gives me the confidence to enjoy the show without worrying.

The MPC has never crashed on me onstage......but the minute you don't have a back-up, that's when you get trouble.
