MPC 2000 8 output board VS s3000XL 8 output board

Sorry Stryke, but I won't remove the casing and everything another time !!!

I had to remove almost EVERY SCREW of my MPC to reach the place ( under the screen ).

But believe me, it works like it was made for it !!!

the only way to use one. You need to get an scsi card for your pc and your all set.

does anyone know if the 8 outs of an s2000 would be also be compatible?

I'm not sure but I think the board for the S2000 is the same as the one in an S3000XL. If you have a look at the rear of the MPC and the board terminals, and they look the same, your chances are pretty good I think.

Anyway, nice to hear it worked out for you, rhythm-x. You indeed have to replace the flatcable, I had to do it too. But the result is worth the effort, don't you agree

You can use MESA. That's an Akai program, and it's free. It can be downloaded in the download erea on akaipro.com.

You can also use Steinberg's Wavelab or Sonic Foundry's SoundForge to send and receive samples. There are, however, other programs who can do this, too.

Unfortunately, this doesn't work with an MPC2000XL, because this machine does not support SCSI sample traffic from a computer.

I totally agree with you Steven !!!

the 8 out of the S2000 is exactly the same as the S3000XL. I know because I got my 8 out board and the fx card for my s3000XL from a damaged S2000.

The EB16 FX card can be swapped directly between the units.
