Those interviews are done by roland how on earth are they going to give you unbiased info about the mv-8000, thats as unlikely getting an positive opinion about the mv on a board called mpc forums.

I think the MV 8k is better for this one reason. When you change the tempo, the sample changes, but stays in key without you having to replay whatever chords, bassline, strings, etc., that you've midi. I still have an MPC 2k from 1998 and no I don't have lines in my screen, and I painted it chrome. I would love to own a MV 8000, but its just learning things that the manual won't tell you(there's always things the manual won't tell you). Plus I've mastered the 2k, there's nothing on this forum I don't know or haven't done. Just learning a new machine just sounds risky to me especially when I just started making a living off selling beats 2 yeras ago. It probably wouldn't change the quality of my production, but I feel it would frustrate the shit outta me for awhile because thats what new machines do until you fully learn it. Regardless of what you know.......and my pockets and reputation/relationship with certain artists, ANR's, labels, etc., can't afford to take the slightest mediocore track. What I've learned about being in the industry is if you don't know how to use it and Jermaine Dupri does.....collaborate somehow because both of you have mastered whatever machines you use and together it will sound twice as hot. without changing how this forums works you'll never be able to encourgae peeps to do this for themselves....changing the forum straucture could mean too much work for tutor or may piss off the regulars but the only way to stop this is to do some of the things suggested in the 'site suggestions' forum- which is really reliant on tutors time

i will one day learn to ignore these peeps; until everyone does it will keep happening and there are some sound cats with far more patience on here than me who'll always helps these dudes out....

Roland came out with the first DAW's in 1995-96 and Akai bit that concept. Roland had drum machines back in the late 70's. In the 80's the Roland TR-808 drums were hot. When the MPC-60 first came out....everyone wanted Roland Drums loaded in it! Now you say Roland is biting......Seems to me they're just BITING-BACK!

I had the MPC-2K, I've been playing with the 4k, and I own the MV-8000. Trust me.....other than 16 square pads.......there is no bitting going on! Roland got a HOT BEAST designed. The MPC-4K is a bad machine, but being able to have a BIG Plasma screen hooked to the MV and being able to use your mouse on many features is the bomb! Editing sound wave is sooo much easier to see on a big screen.......

People hate on the MV, but those who really take the time to learn it...Love it! When I first got it....I expected it to work like the MPC, and figured I wouldn't have to read much.....I started getting mad because it didn't do things like the MPC does! I had used the MPC since 1999, so Akai had me programmed also!

Once I started learning how it works.....it's really easier to use and blows my mind everytime I use it! Really......they're two different machines, and Roland didn't bite in terms of features & the OS. Chances are that you won't like the MV if you're a die-hard MPC user. I was once! But for those that have a open mind and really master the MV (not play with it in some store) it's a Beast!
