WHY BUY AN MPC??????????????

you should just use recycle if your tracks are coming out good, for me when I use reason drums, they come out flat. if i take the same sample in protools it sounds a little better for some reason. when I use my 3000 my drums bang to where when Im done mastering, the drums hit just as hard as any real cd. on my soundclick page the song "pole position" has drums from my 3000 and the song "say goodbye" is reason. thats what works for me, I like reason to add in extra sounds, but the drums dont hit like on hardware to me.

i was a fruityloops head got an mpc a few weeks back ,the mpc gives a more better sound when it comes to drums , more life, pc software are all wicked ,, you should get an mpc then combine it with reasons,, whala its over , no going back, get the mpc , after a week if its crap , just bring it back for a refond

i use both. I use the mpc to control reason and recycle and ableton and wavelab. It really is just a matter of preference. For the pc setup though your going to need a good wave editor such as wavelab, soundforge, audicy, and others. they vary in price. . I also use ableton live to time stretch and eq and add effects to my samples. Then you will probally want to use recycle to chop up the shit you sample with the editor and stretch with live. Then open the samples in reason with the nnxt or the rex player. At this point my mpc comes in not as a sampler, but its main intention as a sequncer. The mpc kicks the shit outta reasons sequncer. It just makes it very very easy to work like this. You will need a soundcard though. One with asio drivers. U need this or your pc will suffer with latency. That means that your shit might sound gittery and messed up while sequncing. And while doing midi operations. Then you need a controller for the pc, where u could use a cheap midi keyboard or the mpcs pads. If i was in your postion though i would get the software first cause it offers alot more veristility. Then add an mpc to your rig later on.
