ok i think it starting to make some sense, i'll fuk with it later tonight when i got some time. a couple more ?s before i get started. you gave two solutions, the first being sample two sounds on different ends of the scale. what would i do with those two samples? would i go into bluebox, apply them to a couple of pads and make the pads chromatic? about setting the decay and loop points on the higher notes. which higher notes? that solution you say to only sample one piano sound. do i 16 level or autochrom that "one piano" and then make those adjustments? the only problem i see with this is if you only workin with one sample, how do you make multiple decay/loop adjustments. this shit is rackin my brain man. this would make for a great video tutorial. sorry so many ?s, i just feel like i not able to take full advantage of this machine quite yet. oh yeah, i just now notice this is in 2000 forums in got the 1k, i guess it all the same though.

The Mpc uses a weird series of notes on Pad Banks A,B and C. Pad Bank D is chromatic. On the 2000 anyway.

Jacpot, I think its cool that you use your MPC for all your synth sounds. The less is more approach is a great way to go.

I hear you about the Fantom. One question? Have you tried programming it? Also, have you ever considered an analog type synth that is fully programmable? The sampler is still the best as you can sample, a piano per se, but just a thought.

Once I started using synths I could program...fully, I've never bought a machine that is solely preset base. Just my thoughts.

Yeah, use your own samples and just pretend like the internal sounds don't exist. I do this sometimes with my extreme, works well. This way it will be a blank canvas just like an mpc is when you first turn it on, BUT with ALOT more sound shaping tools then the 2kxl... Try THAT before you toss it out the window.....

First off, word up. I've been doing this since a while simply cuz I can't afford some nice keys.

I play me some LE or Extreme at the studio though...
To be honest though, if all you use your keyboard for is preset sounds and a little knobtwisting on the res or freq.... someone should rob you right now.
Paying over a G for wackass presets lol. Learn some synthesis and program your own shyts! Check out those envelope and Osc pages and jsut get busy.
That being said, I always love me some wax. But still just as you have methods of looping and decaying auto-chromatic samples, you should get more indepth with your keys.

After I use the Auto Chromatic can I load any other sounds so I can play along with the Auto Chromatic program. Sorry for the question but I never use this function before.
