new or used mpc? need some advice

I'm moving from the 1000 to the 2000XL right now - just because the 2000XL has proven its stability over time. I'm serious about my beats now, I cant afford it crashing on me.

To me the 2000XL has the best of all worlds and is the ultimate MPC. The MPC4000 is too big for me, the 1000 is too cramped and buggy, the 2500 is just **** up with bugs and pops and errors and whatnot. The 3000 is too old, and the 60 is history. Now thats my personal opinion.

Anyways, whatever MPC2000XL you decide to invest in will be a great investment if you are serious about your music. I'm going the for the 2000XLMCD - the blue one.

well it would be cheaper to just find a tan 2000 xl for 600 - 800 bux and jus upgrade it

If you buy a used MPC and it seems like the seller wasn't that honest with you then you bought a machine that will need perhaps a lot of expensive repairs before it works properly. I was very happy I bought my MPC 2kxl brand new, because it started to act up on me after only a couple of months and my 8 out card was buggy as hell, so I was very happy I had the warranty that came with it to get it all fixed without further cost.

To anyone in this position I would say:

If buying a used mpc - Make sure u test it thoroughally if you are going to collect. The main problem areas are the button sensors, broken buttons & of course the pad sensor.

I own a pro audio company and we are now selling a lot of used mpc's and every so often we get one that might look immaculate but the insides are fu**ed!

I have one here that needs 21 push buttons + 4 external buttons replaced

The backlights are normally ok on the 2000xl but if it looks dim then thats more damage to ya wallet. Also on 2000 Classic more & more of them are coming in with dead pad sensors.

Buying used is a gamble FULLSTOP!
