PLATINUM1 "But I move around on it kinda slow--- like a turtle, so that could be one reason.

I think PLATINUM1 might be on to something about moving slow. Everytime my machine crash i was moving fast through the menus.

Its like it overloads and can't keep up with the commands being given and just crashes.

just an observation

Folks..

I've been plauged again with the crash. I thought I had this figured out...ie moving slower etc. But last night the machine really flipped out.

I don't know, I was on the phone again today with AKAI and JD scsi for samplers.com (the guy I got my 1 gig jazz drive from..he's very cool to deal with by the way) The AKAI guy suggested disconnecting EVERYTHING from the machine..that includes my JAzz drive and CD drive for reading sample Cd's...and even perhaps REMOVING my 32 meg of memory...and then working on the machine to see if the crashin' still happens.

I'm gonna do this and report back. If any of you other's are daisy-chaining drives like I am, and are having freeze problems...you might want to stay tuned...or put in your experiences.

Well, never mind.

This machine is completely ****ed. I disconected every cord but the power cord, removed the 32meg...loaded in the MPC drum sounds from the floppy...started a sequence..and Bam, the thing frooze solid.

I got a bad machine...a lemon...period.

I took it in to the repair shop today...10 days short of the warranty expiring :D

I'm this close to dumping the 2KXL and going to the 4k.
