It could be the brand name of the zip disks... I never had this problem with my fuji disks or my Iomega disks so I'm not sure.... I got a zip 250 and save most of my stuff on 100mb disks... saving is quick but loading is alot slower, but not as slow as a floppy... I can't think of anything else that could be the problem... unless maybe all your samples are in stereo? I always use mono samples...

word..yeah i got stereo samples..but that doesnt matter he loadin them quick on the good disk..damn..i think all my disks are iomega

let me make sure I get what you're talking about. You have a disc with one program on it. You load it into the mpc. Then you save that same program onto a new zip. When you try to load the new zip, it's slow. But when you load the same program first the first zip, it loads fine, right?
Okay, let's assume that both zip disks are from the same manufacturer. You've formatted the new one. There is no reason why the new disk should take any longer to load than the old one, unless the program you're saving on the new disk has more information than you thought. Example: You're doing beats using two pgm files. You save as an APS file with the same name as one of the pgms you're using. Now, the APS file will have all information in both programs, including any unused sounds in memory. I'm guessing you have some version of this type of situation going on. Here's what you do. Start by clearing the memory by turning the thing off and on. Load in one long snd file. Save it as a program to one old disk, and one new formatted disk. Turn the machine off. Time how long it takes to load the program from both disks, turning the machine off after each load. If it's the same, then your problem lies with your saving methods.
