agreed. i have currently 2mb installed and i can get a good snare, kick, hat and a sample of a voice from a movie and that about takes up the 2mb. if you only got a few single hit samples in memory and you get that message, you got bad memory or more likely, only 2mb installed. when you go to the load screen (if its the same as the 2000xl) it should say

available memory

snd=
seq=

what numbers do you see there? again, i'm assuming the load screen is similar to the 2000xl here. so, may look a lil different.

now this varies

when my mpc desides it wants to work

it sais snd:18,867 kpbs

i think theres a certain way i put the disks in when i boot it up i dont when i do that it starts and i have to let it go for 15 minutes or it will say no memory available

now my problem is im getting fuzz from the samples i load on my mpc from start to finish of the sample

is there any way i can get this off like i talked about it earlier

is there any way or something i need like switching it from 8 bit playing to 16 bit playing do you know hwere this section is at

but yea im about to buy 32 meg just to be safe

i learned from reading the xl manual and I have a 2000. same things basically. just skip the topics that are only for the xl.

ok

i dont mean to keep bitching i think i got a bad mpc

aside from it being figgety

heres the deal when i add sounds to the drum pads

it doesnt do the fuzzy noise right away if i hit a key to many times it does the fuzzy noise and wont stop doing the fuzzy noise till i turn off the mpc and turning it on 15 minutes later

could i have a bad sound card ????
