1-would it be possible to "mcguyver" my mpc 2000 to have a usb output attatched instead of scsi so that i can back up files on a modern portable or external usb storage device???

Man bro... you would be a very rich man (and well liked) if you could do that for the 2k community. But alas... it can't happen.
I even tried to use a USB to IDE cable inside my 2000XL. All it did when I turned it on was make the screen flash on and off and make a high pitched whining noise. It didn't work so I shut it off quick before i burned sum sht up. :(

Well a man can dream, cant he???? lol
hmmm im confident that in time there will be some way to make this modification. just as mechanics put modern luxury car engines in classic automoblies or glitch musicians make samplers and tone generators out of old electronic children's toys... I will not give up my mpc simply because it has modern storage limitations Grrrrrr
Thanx for responding
Peace

i have a hdd in my xl. i had to make my own power cord to run both my drives. not hard if your savvy with electronics. and like posted before, the xl uses roughly 500mb partitions. so at 9gb your going to have a buttload of partitions. i use a 1gb drive just to store my kits on. i use a external scsi zip to backup and transfer file faster than floppy. all of it was still an assload cheaper than the mcd. and imo easy as hell to install. if you need help just pm me.
