Dang im sorry man, did he give you his address?!?! You should report him to your local police, what city was the address that he gave you? Was it a P.O. Box? He told me he lived in Detroit. You should call their local authorities and report him as well, this dude has been a member of these forums for awhile and has obviously scammed a lot of people.

posting people's personal info on the boards is against the forum rules, reguardless if they're scam artists or not. just take care of the issue privately or through the proper authorities.

Make sure his name isn't Geno Sapio. This punk ripped me off about 4 years ago. I contacted the Sherriff where he was from gathered enough people around the boards who had did the same too. I was awarded my money back from a court order. I know that he tallied atleast 5 grand total from speaking with all of the other people. I think he was from Michigan. Might not be him, but you never know.

thank god you got your money back, it might be the same guy who tried to scam me, he contacted me from the e-mail address "[email protected]"

This was his message...
"$550 is my asking pice and it'll be shipped via UPS. As far as the payment I'm not sure because I don't have a paypal account anymore because some **** broke into it and stole my info and bought things I didn't know about and I havent had an account with them since. Im in detroit"

And this is after I told him I would only pay a verified PayPal account....after this I ignored him.

Nicole, I've been wondering whatever happened with that. Glad it all worked out.

My advice to everyone looking to buy anything from other forum members...

1. Make sure they've been around long enough to have a decent reputation with the community.

2. The seller posts here frequently. Just because you see someone who's been a member for a number of years don't mean jack sh1t. If they never post, Then they come here trying to sell something, that should raise a red flag immediately.

3. When in doubt, ask some forum members who you trust that know the seller can be trusted.

Be safe and be smart! 8)

I can't understand how the **** people are convinced to buy stuff worthing more than 100$ without at least paying through paypal. I bought an SMPTE chip from a guy through these forums and we immediately changed paypal addresses and info. He turned out to be honest for which I am grateful. Still, even if he was about to jack me, that would worth only 50$, not something like 650.

Be careful people, because we write all day on the forums doesn't mean we're pals or something. Scams are all over the place, especially in fora like this one, where "trusted" and "serious" people are supposedly to hang around.
