^^^i hear ya..i been painting for over 15 years..theres something in this sky blue paint thats not mixing well with what ever is in the clear because ive sprayed anywhere within 5 to 10 to 15 to 20 mins after the skyblue..and even well into the next day,and the same thing keeps happening..the blue is so thick, i dont even think it needs a clear, but im very picky, and if you dont clear something, then it will lead to grime build up.

say i paint a button white with no clear,it will look tan within a month or so
but if i use the clear,it will stay white for much much longer..

so my next step is to do what you mentioned and paint them and let them sit for a week or two in a clean ventilated enviornment and then clear them after they have set-up...

smc if you have any idea where to find a jog wheel that will fit the 2000xl,i'd realy appreciate if you could let me in on that..
thanks for any help and i'll do the same..

dunno bud :(

Make sure you sand them jokers lightly with something close to 350-380-400 grit before clearing once they've cured... most rattle can will cure within 72 hours.

After that, use a rag, clean rag, like a terry cloth, and just get it DAMP, not wet, with WAX AND GREASE REMOVER and LIGHTLY wipe them, after sanding, before clearing.

Might be the Swine Flu

He's gettin pretty sick with the Mod!

I'd get a Hazmat Suit....... 8)

Ummmm.... Most likely effected by temp, and what stage the paint was in shen the clear went on.

Fish eyes are usually caused by these conditions. Fish Eye reducer can be added, but not when using rattle cans.

Timing, cleanliness, temp, and chemical, are your biggest issues here.

poundaproblem wrote:Dammit! I wonder what it is then...

im thinking because spring is just breaking and the humidity sky rockets here that the paint builds a skin faster than it should keeping the paint undernieth,fresh..
so i turned the cooler on in the booth but it takes overnight to cool so looks like i'll be workin hardcore on this because i think i get the screen back tommorrow,,and i have a new surround on the way..so im just lookin for a jog wheel,,
but\
i sanded the jog wheel down untill it was completely smooth so at least it looks new for now

sounds to me like the paint bases are conflicting... it's like the new coat is melting the top layer of paint. I have seen this hapen sometimes on walls.... some of you know what I'm talking about.
