are the lines there when you turn on the machine?

have you tried a diffrent disc?

the reason i ask is cause i just started noticing some line n my screen too small ones, thought my screen was gong out , but i had just replaced my flopy with a zip and i picked up some used disk's at the thrift store for 99cents each and some of them i noticed have that line when i put the disc in,cause if i turn it n there not there nly when i put in the disc with teh lines on it. why it does that i have no idea but my screen is still good . just an idea dont know how bad they are on yours but on mine it looked like a hairalmost and only thru the letters not thru my samples in the trim field...weird stuff.

see if that will do anything for you

thank you for the infos. I will try it and ttell you how it goes.

Are you sure its going to work? Have you tried it before?

Because i really need to fix this screen. its gettting more lines and more lines on everytime i turn on.

this has had mpc enthusiasts scratching their heads for years... and nobody has found an alternative to the proprietary screens yet... and we have all tried searching. One guy was able to get some for cheap but it meant a large order from one of the only companies who are capable and willing to start producing them. your best bet is to grab another machine and swap everything for the best parts and then sell the crap one to recoup a few cents back... good luck selling a 2000(xl) with ligns in the screen for close to what it's worth.

I don't know, my screen is fine?

I was just giving suggestions of where you could possibly start to look.
Guess you want the "easiest" fix and that will run yah $300 at least if you can find one. Just buy another MPC and part out the one you currently have. That's what I would do

exactly, because if you are going to spend 300 dollars on something then it might as well be something more then just the screen.

Probably just a coincidence, but.... sometimes the lines are there when the machine is turned on, sometimes they appear after 10 mins or so. Yesterday one line appeared and as the external zip was loading, the line started flickering. I moved the drive as far away as possible from the MPC... and the line vanished altogether. :?

maybe it's the cable to the drive. i've had mine 10yrs now ,i usually have my drive away from the mpc so it dont kink up ,its a thick cable.i'm just afraid of messin up the connection from the mpc.

i think its because of the cable. because sometimes i turned it on it have 3 or 4 lines and sometimes it have 7 or 8 lines. but im afraid to open the machine and reconnect those cables back until im sure its because of the cable.

also afraid that once i opened to fix it and then when i closed it back the screen will disappear. right now i still able to see and work with it.

more input please.

dont be affraid to open your machine..its very simple inside,,just stay away from carpet when doing so and keep the chassis near to touch before you go near your boards..it will clear u of electric static.

and once inside,,the screen is rather easy to deal with..

look through my post and im sure you will find a break down of one.

dude just send your broken screen to mpcworld.com they will send you another one for 100 bucks.

mpcstuff.com does this too but they want $300

is what they do this: replace the actual screen (without the microcontroller that drives it)?

I would like to know if this work for your mpc 2000?

No, it won't work, at all.
MPCstuff dot com has been working on the replacement screen.
