Yep, asr line in can be used just like an active mixer. It can be used as an effects box.

It even has active line in pass through, plug in your mpc main outs -> ASR10 line in and you can use ASR10 effects on your mpc audio going out of the ASR10 main outs like a 2 channel mixer.

Wow, I didn't know that ASR-10 can be used like a mutli-effect box.

When, I first got my 2kxl, this pissed me off because the 2kxl line ins were not active, only for sampling and nothing else. In that time period ASR lived up to its named, ADVANCED SAMPLING RECORDER. Even the ASR's non destructive chopping was great, again the 2kxl was lacking and didn't have it.

mpc and asr/eps on on completely opposite ends of the spectrum sampler-wise.

the sequencer in a mpc is so good you forget / get used to how limited the sampler truly is.
the sampler in an eps/asr is one of the most powerful ever made.

That was all I have back in 2001 so I spoke on it. I know they are different, I was used to non destructive chopping, active line in, adsr, envelope. ASR10 was my first full featured sampler (bought in 1994). Gemini-ds24 (my actual first sampler) is/was some bullshit, it's sitting on the bottom of the pacific somewhere.

Just learned that Waveboy makes a disk that makes the EPS 16+ work like the ASR, it is called Audio-In Disk. Which is cool, because I got one of the those too!

Hi guys,

I've a question about asr10 with mpc combo.
So, I already sequence my asr with my mpc2500 and all is working fine but like I use an Asr10R I don't have the mod wheel thing.

So, my idea is to control the asr mod wheel option with 1 of the mpc sliders by midi cc. Like this I can have full control on transwaves and effects.
I think it's possible but I'm a little lost in the midi cc world.

So, if someone has already done that, I'll be glad to know how to achieve this.

Peace

Answer:

Just grab a midi keyboard with modwheel and hook it up to your mpc.
So, the keyboard now control the mpc which control the asr, then the keyboard control the asr.
Try the modwheel on the midi keyboard on 1 of the mpc midi track (already set on a asr instrument) => it works !!

Voilà !
