Anyone ever seen an internal CF reader for the 2000xl?

My MPC2000XL has USB like the MPC1000.

yo mpc3000, does that function like the mpc1000 usb, where you can't transfer sounds directly to the internal memory, but to the cf card, which basically just turn the mpc1000 into an expensive ass card reader.

what would be best is if you can load sounds directly from your pc into the 2000xl's internal memory, (assign directly to a pad), from the usb port.

I know it's an old thread, but I failed to follow-up in a timely manner.

I use the Apdatec USBxchange which is only 1.1 since that model is compatible with the Mac and PC (USB2xchange is USB2 and PC only).

a cf card reader would be better then a zip drive at least to me since i dont have one.

mpc3000 is that an internal card reader or did you use an external one? cause i think i might try it.

SCSI Internal or external will work. One would have to make a power supply cable for the internal, much like making one for a zip drive (which is covered quite well in the archives).

I have done dozens of data recovery from Zips and have had to turn away Zips that were unrecoverable. I have never had to recover anything from a CF card. It has no moving parts. I've even washed a couple cards. Try sending a Zip disk through a spin cycle.

The CF readers are PCD-15, PCD-17, PCD-19 or PCD-25. The MPC2000XL can use the PCD-47, but I think it is the only MPC that can. They are made by either Intermart or Microtech. I find them for as little as $10 each.

this is definitely a viable option and mpc3000 is right, you can cop these up for really cheap.

I hate to sound redundent but I have searched for evidence of this modification. My interpretation of the past threads can be wrong.
How is this done? You can hook up the internal CF reader to the SCSI on the MPC motherboard and the USB to SCSI converter at the same time? That doesn't seem realistic to me. This is all done internal right?

It is not any different than installing an internal Zip in the MPC and I am pretty certain that there are a lot of tutorials already on the web for that (and some by me).
