8 outputs..

I was bein sarcastic. THere is no way in hell i would pay 2 g's for 8 outs when i could go to G.C and get em brand new for $275.There's a sucker born every minute right?

The main advantage of the 8 outs is convenience, you can track out your music seperately without the 8 outs, just not as quickly. So instaed of being able to record 8 tracks in one take you would have to record each track one by one. So like I said, not necessary but very convenient.

How what? How is it convenient or how do you track out everything one by one?

I'll assume you meant the latter. It helps to have the MPC synced to the DAW but I guess it not necessary, you just solo each track in the MPC, record what you need to, change the MPC to the next track, no need to hit solo again, it follows the track, record track two, etc, etc. Tedious (I've been usin' this word a lot lately)but easy enough.

what is the daw...the mpc would have to be time synced with whatever you were recording on as each time you recorded a different track it would not start at the same starting point

DAW stands for Digital Audio Workstation. If you add 1 bar of 1/4 note hats(or some kind of percussion) you can just line up the clicks and you're good to go, syncing everything up is much easier though.

if i was recording onto pro tools,how would i sync the mpc up wit it

i wanted to get the 8 output but i still can't decide wich soundcard to get, cuz my budget is kinda tight..
since 8 i/o souncards have mic pre-amps, i wouldnt need a mixer right? since i can plug the mic directly to the souncard. is that correct?
i intend to mix it all in the computer..i guess i wouldnt need a mixer.

hey man, what do u mean about recording midi? I do record midi and, by that, i will only be using the mpc because of it's pads.. midi won´t send the sounds to the pc. u must have them already loaded in your software drum machine, but i wouldnt buy my mpc just to hit the pads. i rather buy that mp16 somethin/ akai usb drum pad.

I'm really planning on getting the 8 outs cuz i dont wanna rely so much on the computer.. and to get full control of my sounds, but the most important, to send all 8tracks at a time to pc.

I went to the turntablelab store in new york and got the last 8 outs board!! Whoa lucky me! If any body uses the s/pdif out going into a delta 1010 s/pdif, let me know if when you check the s/pdif tab it reads "Invalid or not present". I still have sound coming through, just wanted to know if the sound would be afftected in anyway with this error. thanks

i was lookin at my mpc and in the mixer screen, i pressed Indiv. and with that we're able to choose wich track we wanna send, and trough wich output. (i dont know if i made myself clear)
I noticed that when u select one track, and choose wich output, u get :
output number 1&2, 3&4, etc.
cant we send 8 tracks through the 8 outputs, as mono?

yes you can, it has to be a mono sampole, stereo samples will not give you the inividual output option
