Tips, tricks, functions that go unnoticed

I use to do that all the time during winter back when I was scratching.

if u have a long sample that keeps playing after u hit stop. You can kill it by going into trim mode.. it kills is straight away ..then just go back to the main screen.. takes about a second with some quick fingers.. stops u waiting for those huge samples that go on for 10 seconds after u have pressed stop..

Don't take this the wrong way, cuz I'm a novice at this too. But you REALLY REALLY need to read your manual!!!!! If we are on the same page as to whats going on, all you need to do is set your sample to Note Off.

Depending on the sample and how you want to record it, what you suggested is not necessarily a better option.

which method do you use? It works for me.

he might be triggering a drum loop to restart in the sequence using the mono voice overlap, you couldn't do that in note off

Yeah i do have some samples set to note off.. but for other things its just not practical to use note off...

The only time I use note off is when i got a rev symble

Thats an easier way of doing rev cymbals.. i usually try and time my cymbals to end where i need them to end...depending on the length of the sample but using note off is probably the go..

When you're in the TRIM screen (shift 5).......you can change the order in which the samples scroll when turning the wheel.


You can sort by:
Memory (The order in which you loaded your samples)
Size (Size of the sample)
Name (Alphabetical order)


When you're already in TRIM screen, to change sorting type, just press F1 (TRIM)

Watch the screen closely, and it will flash which sorting type is selected.
