i agree, I could picture people like forat and those customizing shops liking that piece too..

So now that mpc stuff is pre-ordering, would you say it's a good idea for me to order one now or will I be safe if I wait until they are actually released to order? Do you only have a few on hand (possibly sell out immediately) or are they going to stock a lot of these. I know you mentioned high minimums through the factories so I'm hoping that I'll be safe waiting.

Hi!
I was lookind at this broken mpc2000xl. The problem is that after start it the screen goes 2/3 parts black from left and freezes. Is it possible that the LCD just needs replacement, another thing is was wondering is the ram. Maybe by changing the ram has some effect? Has anybody else had similar problems, ideas?

Thanx!

I highly suggest you take a picture or video of the problem... and start a new thread asking about it in the correct forum section (the 2000/2000xl section as you know)..

It's most likely that the display is bad - here's why:

The LCD actually talks to the MPC while in operation. Specifically at boot - if the MPC doesn't "hear from the LCD", it won't boot.

Also, the LCD is controlled in thirds (or thereabouts). It makes sense that a fault in the LCD is the cause of the freezing.

There are minimums, but only for parts of the display, not the display itself. The first production run is for exactly 200. I think they'll be sold out before they're here on January 29th.

End of January they will be coming in. We are doing preordering just so the guys that order now will be sure they will get one from the first run we get. Its possible they wont sell out by the time they come in but if you want one for sure then its best to preorder.

As for the 2 second splash screen saying MPCstuff.com, if it wasn't on there it would just be blank or say something else. Cant we get a little credit for working VERY hard with Envision and spending a good amount of money to try to get these things going for everyone? Its just a 2 second splash screen when the unit is turned on just like the JJ OS, that isn't gonna kill anyone right? Shoot my MPC is on WAY more than I switch it on so I would likely never even see it.

This project has been on going for years now I hope everyone is happy with our results.

It seems I am deleting some inflammatory comment on my YouTube or Envision's Facebook pages every other day. Not sure what that's all about...

On logos - my Vizio TV has an illuminated logo on it that remains lit when it is switched off. I never gave it a second thought that they are advertising the brand any time it is plugged into the wall.
