"I just ordered mine. How long does it usually take to ship? I can't wait!"

I got mine in 3-4 days.

I threw my new 2 GB Kingston CF card in there, and IT WORKS too!

.. so when i first put the 2 GB card in there and booted it saw a disk, but it didn't read any files. .. so I formatted it by going to LOAD (shift+3) then F3 (format)

It read my 2040 MB card, did its format, then I threw it back into my vista* computer -- loaded samples, and now the files are visible and i'm set.

*I mention this for any who think file formats become an issue or still have a Win 98 computer around just to load samples.. try to keep file names under 8 letters to avoid ~'s

Mekishiko Thanks! I ordered mine yesterday and got it at the job today! Just waiting on my mem card now but I'm going to hit the microcenter in chicago to test a few 2gig cards.

Way to conquer untouched territory (This model of CF reader) 8)

I got the CF reader today. I may install tonight if I decide not to go to class since I'm feelin' a bit under the weather. I will post pics soon!

Well, I have it installed now (at least most of the way). I still have to drill the holes and mount it. It was a fairly easy install. My only problem now is that I need a longer ribbon cable. I thought I had an old PC around here somewhere but no dice. Guess I'll find one tomorrow.

Ah yes, I knew I forgot to mention something.

You will need a longer IDE ribbon cable if you have the stock Zip drive currently installed.

Any IDE cable from any old computer will work. You should be able to buy one for real cheap, or find one used for $1, or ask someone you know works on computers to give you one for free.

You need to go to Best Buy and get the Monster Cables IDE cable for $44.95. It has solid gold wires that will make all your saving and loading ultra-fast!

Nah, just yankin ya - any IDE cable will do.

I believe I mentioned this already.
You will need a longer cable no matter what is in the MPC unless you already had a card reader in which case , I doubt you would be in need of our instructions.
I picked up the cable from a computer store for about 5 bucks or less.
This experience has been great and I am so happy you provided that link.
