parallel scsi into the MPC scsi port, does it damage port?

If you plug a parallel scsi into the MPC scsi port, does it damage the SCSI port? cause I did but didnt leave it for long because the MPC didnt read it(i realized mpc doesnt read parallel), just hope it didnt ruin my MPC, I plugged back my original working scsi zip drive and it seemed to work fine, just wondering if it damages the port if you use the parallel scsi.
