Pad Placement

I am a proud owner of a MPC 2000XL with a CD drive attached through SCSI I am a guy that loves hip hop and would like to make some beats from a hobbies perspective. I just love music and have a ear for music I am a DJ & have the skills but can't figure out how to spread the beats across the pads on my MPC (sorry for the long intro). I want to use just my CD drive and my MPC to do this. I have a gang of CD's with sound on them and can put them in one by one but I know there is a easy way of loading and placing them across all 16 (well 64) pads and would like some input on a way to do this without having to go manual. Thanks in advance.

you can take 1 sample. chop it into 16 zones. and auto assign a pgm to 16 pads at once. but as far as loading 16 or 64 samples at once off cd is not possible. you can load them 1 at a time and then save the sounds as a pgm. that way the next time you want to load them its a 1 button deal. but you have to build the pgm first. and you can also set the mpc to auto load at the startup. so if you have a sound set that you always use you can build that pgm and have the mpc autoload it every time you turn it on. you should really brouse through the manual for all the technicals on this stuff though.

get the mpc editor software for the pc. there you can assign samples to the pads...also in automatic mode. this means with one click you can assign samples to all 64 pads.
inside the mpc, i think you can only load and assign one sample at once.

pgm creation is part of the fun, get into it.
