2000xl fizzle crackle HELP!

I was working on my 2000xl and it froze up and made a high pitched crackle noise out of my speakers. Now when i turn it on, the LCD says "Insert MPC2000xl Disc". OS Problem? Anyone? I was using an internal flash drive with an SD card. :

Download the OS, put it on a memory card and reboot to install the OS.
See what happens after that.

You need new memory sticks trust me same thing jsut happened to my boy.
