i have had my mpc for some years now and i still have never used it for a sampler!
meaning i dont take samples with it .. i have always used it as a sequencer .. i trigger samples from
other pieces of equipment .. but to me even with max memory it kinda hindered what i wanted to do.
i love my mpc dont get me wrong, and ive been causein he11 on these boards for a while .. but now
im wondering is there anything else i can do with the MPC ..
i would be lost without it .. but all i do is sequence with it .. and control modules and my PC ...
there has to be something im missing .. because even though AKAI has made many newer models
the one i have (2000xl) is still kickin .. i thought about buying a newer one like a 2500 or something
but im afraid ill do the same exact thing with it SEQUENCE and i cant see paying for features ill never use!
i cant imagine produceing on JUST an mpc but on the other hand i cant picture produceing without one..

im soooooo damn confused .. i need a drink :D crown royal anyone :D

Keep in mind that the sequencer is really one of the strong points of the machine. Its not intended to record and hold huge sound waves like Protools. Dont let this hinder you though. I have sampled and sequenced a couple hundred songs using only my 2000xl. Then i record the work ive done to an external multitrack at which point i add scratching or lyrics or whatever i want as a seperate track. The machine is also great to play live on stage, just ask RJD2, Cut Chemist, DJ Shadow, Jel or......me. Hopefully ive been somewhat helpful. Peace

like most tools its can be used in many ways. Man i use the pads on mine to controll the knives on a machine that kills chickens.
