Quick Question

My turntables are hooked to my MPC and my MPC is hooked up to an amp so how would I play my sequence on my mpc and use the turntables at the same time for scratching??

plug your mpc into the line input of your turntable mixer and then the main out of the mixer to the amp.

if you are not using a preamp for your turntables (to go into the mpc record in) then you are not amplifying the sound enough to get a clear sound. the turntables need to be plugged into a phono input (so get a dj mixer if ya don't have one) not a line input such as the one on the mpc. the only other option you might have is if your amp could monitor more than one input at a time in which case plug everything in there.

is there exit source/rec thru on the MPC because i don't want to have to switch the input/output connections everytime i want to sample

no, unfortunately there is no rec thru on the mpc. you can monitor input signals when sampling on the mpc but you cannot do so playing back a sequence at the same time.

to get around this handicap... use the line output of the amp or the second main output of the dj mixer (most have two) to connect the turntables to the mpc record in. make sure you turn off the mpc record monitor or turn down the main volume knob while you are sampling, otherwise, you will get feedback if the mpc volume is up on either the mixer or amp.
